SUN Bucks is a federal summer nutrition benefit that gives families $40 per month for June, July, and August — totaling $120 per eligible child — to spend on groceries at any SNAP-authorized store.
Your child automatically qualifies if your household receives SNAP, TANF, or Medicaid, or if your child was approved for free or reduced-price school meals during the 2025–2026 school year. In those cases, no application is required — benefits load directly to your EBT card.
Families who don’t receive those benefits but meet the income threshold may still qualify by
learning how the program works and submitting a simple application before their state’s deadline.
Accepting SUN Bucks will not reduce your SNAP, Medicaid, SSI, or any other federal benefit — it is permanently protected by federal law.
